Metallica tickets represent the best of American heavy metal. The Metallica concert schedule has been released and it has sent a whole generation of metalheads silly with excitement! Everyone wants to see the Californian rockers perform their “Death Magnetic” set. Check out the Metallica tickets and the Metallica tour dates on this site to book your pew in the Snake Pit! I for one like to ride the lightning and I’ve been hunting to buy Metallica tickets for myself and my heavy metal loving friends. I enjoyed the hunt so much I made this website.
Metallica tickets were always something for metalheads to hunt down, but maybe not as much as they do today! A product of early-80s Los Angeles, Metallica burst onto a jaded scene and set it alight. The original Metallica line-up of guitar-playing vocalist James Hetfield, Ron McGovney on bass, drummer Lars Ulrich, with lead guitar played majestically by Dave Mustaine forms one of the most inspirational thrash metal outfits of all time; Metallica have influenced top musicians from bands like Korn and Godsmack. The likes of Limp Bizkit and Staind have also played Metallica covers. Plus Metallica have put in amazing performances playing Iron Maiden covers. No wonder they were voted “Greatest Heavy Metal Band in History” by MTV. Who’s arguing? The prooof of the pudding is in the eating, so find Metallica tickets and rock, people!
Like any great metal band, tickets to Metallica are prized among collectors. Especially tickets from the gigs when the line-up was different. Metallica tickets from the early days always fetch plenty of interest. One interesting offshoot from Metallica was of course Dave Mustaine, the guitar hero kicked out of the band due to substance abuse issues. Mustaine formed Megadeth, another top class thrash metal outfit with complex lyrics and a searing guitar sound. Indeed, Metallica have proved a fount of thrash metal talent. Metallica and their ornery offshoot, plus Anthrax and Slayer, form the Unholy Quaternity of American Thrash Metal. Of the four, though, it is always Metallica tickets that get the metal crowd pumped the most.
During Metallica’s Damage Inc. tour of 1986, tragedy struck the band; close to the town of Dörarp, Sweden, the tour bus skidded and rolled over. Band members Hammett, Ulrich and Hetfield escaped lightly but bassist Cliff Burton was trapped beneath the vehicle and killed. Metallica as an entity seemed to be over, with the much-loved - and much missed - Burton gone. Burton was an example to Metalheads everywhere though and the band knew he would want Metallica to continue to exist in his absence. And so Metallica plodded on, minus their ace bassist and his legendary solos. The Burton incident remains a central component of the Metallica saga and a memorial to the never-forgottten bass player. After his death, Metallica released Cliff ‘em All, a video documentary featuring many examples of Burton’s live performances. The band now play the bass solo at a slower tempo in the song “To Live is to Die” in tribute to Cliff Burton. Other metal bands, such as Anthrax, have also dedicated albums to Burton.
Nobody will tell you not to buy Metallica tickets, that’s for sure. Metallica’s dark and often violent message belies an understanding of musicianship many underestimate. When you see a Metallica concert for the first time, it is said that the complexity and ever-changing technique can exhilarate and intimidate - but that’s what a thrash metal concert is all about, right?
Find your region in our Metallica schedule and buy Metallica tickets now. Relish the monstrosity and redemption in the message. Feel the call of Ktulu and breathe the apocalyptic rush when those guitars let rip!
